Council continues to try to advance the
profile of Nutrition in all settings
across the UK. We are working with BAPEN
to create income so BAPEN becomes
sustainable. The Oral Syringe posters
are to be revised and we are looking for
nurse volunteers to help the BAPEN
committee with MUST. |

BAPEN developing
nutrition support course with a distance
learning module component. Nursing
contribution was included. Winnie
contributed to the writing up of the
care for central lines bit and enteral
tubes etc... Courses were planned for
the Autumn 2007.
Meeting was
predominantly on finalising the BAPEN
course. Helen Holder also contributed to
the nursing aspects of the course
material. |

Currently defining components of HPN/IF,
examining costs of HPN/IF and examining
data. Developing framework for
standards, advise on the structure and
function of a managed network.
The group are currently working on the
competencies required to be a NNS
within an approved NST. As this work is
vital to all NHS Nutrition
Nurses the group includes two Nutrition
Nurse Consultants. |
